Pastor Erick and Karen Sandoval are the dedicated and inspiring leaders of Mission Baptist Church: The Stream. Married since 2015, they are blessed with two beautiful children, James and Amy. His unique background and experiences have shaped his approach to ministry, combining creativity, love, and compassion to serve the community.
A rich family legacy in ministry
Pastor Erick's journey began in El Salvador, where he served as a musician in his grandfather's church. Pastor Santos Sandoval Sr., the founder of Mission Baptist Church, had a profound influence on young Erick. At the age of 11, Erick moved to New Jersey and began serving in his parents' church as a youth leader and musician when he was 15 years old. He graduated from Somerville High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Kean University in 2014.
In 2019, Pastor Erick and his father founded Mission Baptist Church: The Stream, the 12th and newest church in this Mission. That same year, Pastor Erick received his degree in Seminary Education in El Salvador, becoming an accredited pastor and leader of Mission Baptist Church: The Stream.
A multifaceted role in the church
Pastor Erick wears many hats within the church. Not only does he lead the congregation as a pastor, but he also serves as Director of the Worship Team.
A creative and compassionate approach to ministry
Pastor Erick's approach to ministry centers on teaching the Word of God and leading the church with love and compassion. His three most important ministerial objectives are:
1. Win souls for Jesus.
2. Serve the community.
3. Worship God in everything.
Under his leadership, the church has become deeply involved in the community. Pastor Erick and Karen have spearheaded numerous initiatives such as the Grace Foundation, international mission work, and various public events to bless the community. His creativity and dedication to service have had a lasting impact on the lives of many. Early years
Pastors Santos Sandoval and Mary Sandoval are devoted spiritual leaders, dedicated to serving their community and guiding others on their journey of faith. Born and raised in the town of Chalatenango, El Salvador, they grew up with strong Christian values that shaped their character and influenced their decision to pursue a career in ministry. From a young age, Pastor Santos felt a deep connection with God and a calling to help those in need.
Reputation and Growth
Over the years, Pastor Santos and Mary's reputation for their compassionate nature, uplifting sermons, and deep connections with the Holy Spirit continued to grow. Recognized for his unwavering commitment to the word of God and the well-being of others, the congregation unanimously elected him as their pastor-at-large.
Leadership in Mission Baptist Church
After the unfortunate death of the founder of Mission Baptist Church, Pastor Santos became the general pastor of the mission in 2007 and the churches have flourished both spiritually and numerically. They implemented innovative programs that engaged members of all ages and backgrounds while maintaining traditional values that had significant meaning to the community. His dynamic preaching style captivated listeners from various walks of life, inspiring them to deepen their relationship with God and live their faith practically.
